Perspective
Gramonnati Sansthan firmly believes in Gandhian principle of gram swaraj.
The organisation is working with most deprived and vulnerable sections and not working for them. It envisages its role as a catalyst or facilitator in the development process by empowering them through capacity building.
The organisation helps people understand and analyse the situation and work out the strategies for their development using participatory methods. It firmly believes that unless there is ownership of the community its true sense, no programme run and managed by someone else can be successful. Thus it always consults intervention community groups for chalking out strategies before planning out any programme.
Gramonnati Sansthan does not believe in service based programs/activities. Instead, it emphasises on rights based programmes. It focuses its efforts on developing the inner strength of the community so that they can oppose the unfavorable the process of people’s empowerment for their rights and entitlements. It promotes the process of people’s empowerment in such a way that they come forward to advocate their cause and form community based groups/institutions and exercise their rights and entitlements collectively.
