Title
Bundelkhand Gau Adharit Prakritik Kheti (Cow-based natural farming in Bundelkhand)
Goal
To promote natural farming in selected clusters of Mahoba district for betterment of the farmers
Description
Under this project four clusters, each measuring 50 hectares of agricultural fields have been formed in all the blocks of the district. The project assumes that one cow can support organic farming on about 30 bighas (5 hectares) of agricultural land. In view of this, the participating farmers in the project must have at least one cow with them.
The farmers are given training in organic farming and production and use of organic ingredients for natural farming: ghanjeevamrit (organic manure), jeevamrit (liquid manure), beejamrit (seed processing), agniastra, brahmastra, neemastra, and dashparni astr (all pesticides). They are also given handholding support.
Expected Outcome
- Decrease in input cost and increase in profit
- Appropriate use of own resources like seeds
- Pure and nutritive food
- No decrease in production
- Better soil health and water conservation
