Who We Are

Established in 1983 in Mahoba district, Bundelkhand (Uttar Pradesh), we are a community-based organisation with over four decades of grassroots experience working alongside rural communities.

Our work focuses on strengthening rural livelihoods and resilience through equitable access to resources, sustainable livelihood systems, and collective participation in development processes. We place special emphasis on working with women, adolescent girls, small and marginal farmers, and landless families, supporting them to build confidence, agency, and long-term security.

We work through integrated initiatives in water management, sustainable agriculture, land and livelihood security, and climate resilience, recognising the inter-linkages between people, resources, and ecosystems.

Our journey is guided by the belief that meaningful and lasting change begins when communities recognise their own strength and come together to shape a just, sustainable, and inclusive future.

Our Vision

To build self-reliant and inclusive rural communities rooted in equality, dignity, and harmony with nature—where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.

Our Mission

To strengthen rural communities by enhancing access to opportunities, resources, and knowledge, enabling women, youth, and marginalised groups to lead lives of equality, confidence, and sustainable well-being.

Our Approach

We follow a community-led development approach that prioritises local ownership and long-term sustainability by:

  • Strengthening grassroots leadership and collective participation
  • Empowering communities to recognise their potential and drive local change
  • Blending traditional knowledge with modern, sustainable practices
  • Promoting harmony between people and nature—for present and future generations
